02 May Foreplay
I like to think of life as one big foreplay. Diving into the pleasure of presence and the moments that lead to the ‘climax’
The climax is changeable and rarely the same and is all dependent on the foreplay of each moment leading up to it.
That feeling when you close your eyes at the end of the night. A moment of intimacy with a lover. Sharing laughter with your bestie over a glass of wine. A sigh of relief as you press send and meet your deadline. The stillness of sitting with yourself. Flicking the light switch as you leave your office for the night. A sexy glance in the mirror before walking out of the door. A kiss on the cheek when you say hi to your Mum. A hug you hold a little longer, just because you can. A playful phone call with your girlfriend. A pause as you take a moment to appreciate the colors of the sunset. Closing your eyes as you take that first sip of your morning coffee. Enjoying the explosion of flavors when you eat your fav meal. Receiving warmth from a stranger when you offer a smile. The magic you feel when you share a kiss with someone you love. The freshness of the breeze on your face when you’re riding your scooter. The warm water running down your back as you shower. The smile you notice as you walk barefoot in nature. The scent of a rose as it infuses your nostrils. …….and the list is never ending.
Pleasure can be found in each moment, even the ones that are filled with sorrow.
You get to choose how you show up. Always! When you find yourself face to face with your lover about to indulge in an intimate moment, you can be going into that moment as a form of release, unwinding from your stressful day or you can choose to flow from your daily moments of foreplay and have it overflow into your love making, allowing the pleasure to continue and create a space for exploration and playfulness.
I know it’s not always easy to remember this and to live in this way of living life as foreplay however the moments when you can remind yourself and put foreplay into practice, you’ll experience more pleasure filled moments and in turn, be able to find pleasure in the most simplest of things.
